Marty is a registered Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Western Seminary in June of 2001 and her Bachelor’s degree from Bethany College. Prior to coming to CCC, Marty worked at Advent Group Ministries for six years, helping adolescents and their families, as well as individuals and couples. Her areas of interest in counseling include people in ministry, codependency, addiction, grief and loss, pre-marital and couples, depression and anxiety, trauma resolution, and severe mental illness. Marty also facilitates a partners group for the Addiction Recovery Center, helping women whose partners struggle with sex addiction. She is trained in EMDR, ACT and Prepare/Enrich, and is a member of CAMFT and AACC. Marty’s husband is a pastor. They have three children.
